Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power. Top & Bottom Monday's

This week I deliver an exciting, thrilling and massively rocking tops and bottoms. It is a well known fact that since the beginning of popular music women have had a vital role in ways many men could never come close. Fashion and music go hand in hand and women like Patti Smith, Cher, Madonna, Patsy Cline, Yoko Ono, Diana Ross and Stevie Nicks among many kickass fashionable female artists have had an unforgettable role in the marriage of these two art forms. So, in honor of fashionable female musicians, this week my top and bottoms pays tribute to the women in music of yesterday, today and maybe tomorrow.
Top pick of the week goes to:

Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power, a great new exhibit at the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrates fashion and music through the years.

The Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power,” a stellar new exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The exhibit celebrates the music, fashion and life of hip-thrusting, crazy antics and controversial artists—Wanda Jackson, Donna Summer to Lady Gaga. With more than 300 artifacts on view, this major musical delight is not to be missed.

Inspired by the beautiful and marvelous desert of the American Southwest and Native American art, Proenza Schouler delivers a Fall ’11 collection that is practical, functional and passionately crafted with a lot of love. The prints, the colors and the shapes used to create this collection are unique and purely Proenza Schouler. Pieces that will make a statement and make you stand out among common fashion.

The artful and sumptuous creations of Alber Elbaz for Lanvin Fall '11 are original and simply divine.

The simplicity and elegance of Lanvin’s Fall ’11 collection is a masterful and memorable. Alber Elbaz created a dark symphony infused with personal traditions and looking through his own creative lens, Elbaz looked back to his roots—the fashionable roots that grounded this master of French fashion.

My Three Bottom Picks of the Week Are:
Since this week is all about music and fashion it is my not so great honor to present to you my bottom picks. These ladies are just three of many ugly fashion disasters at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. My ever present question remains, why? Why do some of these young ladies decide to wear some of the most unflattering, hideous, tasteless and boring fashions? I focus my attention on these three women because the fact remains, they are consistently making great fashion mistakes. I’m sorry if my brutal honesty sits sour with some of you, ultimately it is the truth.

Is it a shower curtain or tacky black and white wallpaper?

Jessica Szohr is a young beautiful woman but in this horrible black and white jumpsuit she looks more like a tacky shower curtain or some old gay man’s wallpaper than a Gossip Girl. What were you thinking? Were you drunk? Really?

Kristen Stewart is so predictable and fashionably boring at the MTV Movie Awards.

Kristen Stewart in a custom Balmain strapless dress. So what? Who cares? This girl is so predictable and her fashion sense so boring. And that hair—so dated and so dull. Next!

I don't have many words to describe this awful fashion wreck. What was she thinking?

Amanda Bynes in Herve Leger and Louboutin shoes. She’s a fashion train wreck. No make it train, plane and automobile wreck. Not cute at all. Her bandage dress is so tight and so unfortunate—unfortunate for the dress because it could look great on someone else. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wait! Look at flat her hair. Wrong.
